Enjoying nature in the mountains, carving silky smooth powder turns through untouched deep snow slopes, always on the lookout for the next cornice or small bumps – that’s what makes backcountry snowboarding such an adventure.

With a return to the roots of snowboarding comes a call for freedom and independence from ski lifts and crowded ski resorts with après-ski and mass processing. The splitboard—a snowboard that can be split lengthwise and converted into two “touring skis” for the ascent—opens up completely new terrain away from the busy slopes of the ski resort and complements the incredible “surfing feeling” in deep snow with the uplifting feeling of having conquered the mountain yourself.
